2) How does your media product represent particular social groups?

In my opinion a key character in our opening sequence is Roman as he’s the one we find dead as he represents a young white male who goes to college. He is also quite arrogant and always takes care of his appearance which is then ruined by his own blood.  I used this picture of him because it shows well how we used make up and costume to show that Roman is dead. On the right there is a still from Friday 13th showing one of the characters being killed by Jason. The similarities between these two characters in the stills are that they both are covered in blood, and look helpless and weak. We also tried to try and use a suitable area to film this scene of our film. We used an empty warehouse. In Friday 13th they used a campsite near a lake which is quite dark and spooky. The differences between these two characters in these stills are that Roman is found already dead, and the character from the other film is actually seen being killed. This makes our film a bit more mysterious then Friday the 13th which is more of a film that shows people being killed with blood squirting out; this makes it more disgusting than mysterious. People that would watch our film would be watched by 15 year olds or over who like to challenge their emotions and watch horror films often. In my opinion it would be mostly males as females don’t watch as many horror films as they are believed to be afraid of things like that more than males
